Quite a big, long piece that's framed nicely to give it a bit of extra presence. Again, it's powdered glass that's been fired. Next week Its going on a visit to St Ives.

So here's the fired piece...plus a few more.
One of them is destined for a house on the beach in Sussex. Perfect...
Here's a quick preview of a piece that's on it's way to a firing... I have to hire a bigger kiln for this one. It's just a tiny bit bigger than mine can accommodate.
The kiln man came today to give mine a service. But I forgot he was coming yesterday and loaded it up for an overnight firing. Whoops.
Here's the progression from an idea through different stages to just before firing. If it works, I'll post it soon!
Here's a few little glimpses at the painting process with powdered glass...in all it's different guises.
...and the end result...
Here's the fired and framed piece (I showed it the other day)...
Its been fired it twice, adding more powders and paint to get more depth. Inspired by a picture I took on a beach on the Lizard, Cornwall.
Soft colours. As usual. Now on its way back to Cornwall.
Just a little glimpse at the hands of my framer! Kelvin sorts out everything that happens after I have made the piece... From firing the kiln, cutting, painting and labelling boards, to framing special pieces and sending them out into the big wide world.... Oh and he also designed and built my website... What a star.

The lovely garden at Acton Court, near Bristol.
Once upon a time Henry viii and Anne Boleyn had a little holiday here...
Wild flowers and rambling roses, peace and quiet. Pretty much a dream garden.
The day started with a breakage... It just fell. I wait for each layer of paint to dry, but this piece wasn't destined for the kiln!
So, this is the first stage of another picture. Left in a safe place this time. I'll show the finished piece in a few days.
The tools I use every day... Paintbrush, palette knife and glass cutter.
The powdered glass that looks just like paint... Soluble with water.
The paint on the glass, nearly dry, just before firing.
Here's a couple of close ups... I love the soft cream coloured beach, called Vanilla, it works well with the muted blues and greens I seem to use a lot lately. The windows and ropes are painted with powdered glass.
